Adult Programs
People seek support for many different reasons. Concerns about substance use, gambling, or other addictive behaviours can affect many areas of life, and reaching out for help is often the first step toward making positive changes.
Rideauwood offers a range of program options designed to meet people where they are. Our team works collaboratively with each individual to explore their experiences and identify approaches that support their goals, wellbeing, and personal circumstances.
Drawing on 50 of experience supporting individuals across Ottawa and the surrounding region, Rideauwood provides evidence-based services that help people better understand addiction and find practical ways to move forward towards improved health and wellbeing.
Substance Use Treatment
This is an out-patient program that provides individual and group counselling for people 26+ wanting to make changes to their substance use. The focus of the program is to support people on reducing the harms of substance use, and increasing quality of life. All programs at Rideauwood work within a harm reduction approach and support people in their self-determined goals that may include abstinence, use reduction, working towards moderation, etc.
Access MHA is brought to you by Regional Coordinated Access and is funded by the Province of Ontario. Access MHA provides a single point of access and referral, where you can apply for a range of services to meet your needs. You will be paired with a trained mental health and substance use professional, who will access your needs and will match you to appropriate service from a network of partner organizations.
Step 1: Book an Appointment
Fill out the secure and easy online form and select a call back time that works for you. Or, ask your health care provider to submit a referral for you. After filling out the form, you will receive an email confirmation with instructions to complete a set of questionnaires online.
Step 2: Speak with Access MHA Staff
Please complete required questionnaires before your appointment. At the appointment date and time, a staff member will contact you by phone to confidentially discuss your needs and figure out next steps.
Step 3: Get Connected to Help
After your call, the staff member will directly connect you to services offered by one of the network partners, link you to local services, and/or connect you to a peer with lived expertise of mental health challenges and/or substance use health/addictions.

Urgent Substance Use Treatment

Problem Gambling
This group-based program offers education, support and treatment to individuals 26+ to address problematic gambling behaviours and related mental health issues. Individual counselling is available for those in the group program.
