Treatment Approach Rideauwood's approach has developed out of more than 25 years of treatment experience, observation and research. No single philosophy of substance abuse or addiction is required by clients. Many factors can contribute to harmful use of alcohol and drugs. Using a versatile and eclectic array of tools and approaches helps clients to recognize the signs of substance abuse and addiction and to acknowledge serious problems requiring change.

Rideauwood Addiction and Family Services, is a nonprofit, community-based service, offering day and evening programs for group and individual treatment for substance abuse, addiction, gambling and related family problems. Public education, training and consulting with other service providers concerning their clients, are some other activities carried out by the agency's experienced staff.

Client satisfaction is very high and clients report major changes in improved physical health, work, family, school, mental health and finances.

Community Partnerships Rideauwood has developed partnership with several mental health agencies, community partnerships, including: schools, corrections, police,CHEO, several residential addiction treatment agencies. Working together for the greater health of our community is a winning formula " None of us is as smart as all of us".

Training and Consultation Rideauwood provides specialized training, professional development, consultation and clinical supervision to professionals, counsellors, educators, health care providers and students.

Rideauwood also provides public education workshops on substance abuse to promote awareness, early intervention and prevention.
