| 1976 |
| Rideauwood Addiction and Family services was given some startup
funds from the Ministry of Health to begin an outpatient treatment
program for individuals struggling with addiction issues. The
first 5 day course with long term follow-up was initiated at various
locations throughout the city. |

| 1977-1981 |
| Services were added for Family Members, Adult Children of Alcoholics,
Teen and Parents Substance Abuse Programs. Monthly Education Information
Sessions for the public were introduced. Later Health Professionals
Training was initiated. |

| 1985 |
| The first School Based Substance Abuse Program was piloted.
There are full treatment programs for serious alcohol / drug problems.
As of 2002, Rideauwood was operating in 13 local high schools
admitting 750 clients yearly. |

1987-1992
|
| Ministry of Health increased funding to cover all existing services;
fees for core treatment ended. Demand increased nearly threefold,
resulting in a waiting list of up to 12 months. Programs were
modified to reduce waiting lists. Telephone intake screening was
implemented and pretreatment and support services were initiated.

| 1993 |
| Increase in demand for services created need for
evaluation to ensure program excellence. Funding reduced by 2%
as Social Contract strategy. Remained frozen to 2002. |

| 1994 |
| Development of a 3 year strategic Plan to address decreased
funding and increase service demand. Fundraising becomes an essential
direction to meet increase demand in services. Several new programs
were implemented. School programs expanded to three new schools. |

| 1996 |
| Rideauwood Celebrated its 20th Anniversary. Over 850 clients
served annually with over half served through fundraising events
and donations. Ten schools now served. Problem Gambling Treatment
begins with fundraising revenues seeing 60 clients yearly. |

| 1997-2002 |
| Implemented and received funding to double the Gambling
Treatment Program capacity, as well as a program that supports
family members. By 2002, Rideauwood was in 13 High Schools, including
St. Mary's Home for pregnant teenagers. Clients and family members
served annually reached over 2000. Gambling Treatment served over
200 in 2001 - 2002. |

| Entered into 2 year partnerships with two mental health programs
to offer motivational support and counselling groups for homeless
clients coping with both mental illness and addiction. At present
these groups are only available to clients of CMHA and Salus.
Alcohol / Drug Treatment opened to first group of Deaf clients. |
